Disclosure: who does the roofing work and what they hold
Trenton Roofing runs a telephone and online request line for roof repair and replacement around Trenton, Mercer County and the neighboring counties. It is not a roofing contractor. Inspections, repairs, materials, the written quote and the signed contract all come from a single independent local roofing company chosen for each call, and that company alone answers for them, including any permit it applies for.
In New Jersey, home improvement contractors register with the Division of Consumer Affairs. In Pennsylvania there is no general contractor or roofing licence, and contractors who do home improvement work register with the Office of Attorney General. The company assigned to your call holds the licence or registration its own state requires. Trenton Roofing and this website claim no licence, registration, bond or insurance of their own.
You may ask for the company's licence or registration number by calling (833) 751-2102, or when the roofer contacts you. The number is kept off this website for privacy reasons, and anything you are told can be confirmed with the state office before work begins. Cost figures on this site are explanations of what moves a quote, not offers; the roofer sets the price after inspection, and insurance matters rest with your insurer.

Prices are estimates
Price ranges are typical estimates for our service area in 2026. They are not quotes or offers. Your price is confirmed in person before any work starts.
Safety on and around a roof
Do not go up to look. Falls are the leading cause of death in construction work, and roofs, ladders and roof openings account for most of them. A roof that looks sound from the ground can have broken sheathing, rotten decking or a hidden soft spot that gives way under one footstep, and storm damage makes that more likely, not less.
Never walk a roof that is wet, frosted, mossy, or shedding loose granules: asphalt shingles are slick long before they look it, and a shallow pitch is no protection. Never go up after a storm while there is still wind, lightning, standing water or a downed power line anywhere near the house. Snow and ice make the same roof several times worse, and pulling at an ice dam from a ladder brings the ice down on the person pulling it. Keep well clear of the eaves in freezing weather for the same reason.
You can tell us a great deal without leaving the ground: look at the roof with binoculars, photograph what you can see from an upstairs window, and check the ceilings and the attic from inside. Let someone with fall protection and the right ladders do the rest. While work is going on, keep children and pets away from the drip line, keep vehicles out from under the eaves, and treat every nail, offcut and piece of flashing on the ground as sharp. If a ceiling is sagging or wet, stay out of the room under it until someone has looked at it.
Licensing, permits and insurance
New Jersey issues no roofing licence of its own. Contractors doing home improvement work, roofing included, register with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs under the Contractors' Registration Act, and the registration number belongs to that business rather than to this site. Registration requires proof of commercial general liability insurance of at least $500,000 per occurrence, carried in the registrant's own name, and a municipality may not issue a construction permit to a contractor who is required to register and has not. Ask for the registration number before work starts and check it with the Division. Nothing on this Site is a claim to hold a licence, certification, approval or manufacturer accreditation. Ask us what we hold before work starts, and check it with the authority that issues it.
Replacing a roof normally needs a building permit and an inspection, and which office issues it depends on where the property sits; confirm it with your city or county building department. Shingle, membrane and metal manufacturers give their own warranties on their own terms, and most of them depend on the roof being installed, fastened and ventilated to the manufacturer's instructions; nothing on this Site creates, extends or substitutes for one.
On storm and hail work: we can document what we find and meet your adjuster at the property, but we are not public adjusters or insurance agents. We cannot appraise, negotiate or settle a claim for you, and in many states doing that without a licence is prohibited. Nothing on this Site offers to pay, waive, rebate or absorb an insurance deductible. Whether damage is covered is decided by your insurer under your policy, and information here is a summary, not legal, insurance or code advice.
